Introduction
The history of Tabenacle Widows Home was motivated by PST. Mary Mugambi and Madam Ann Chepkosgei from their own experiences, Mary who grew as an orphan narrates, after the loss of her father Mary’s mother became a widow, this made the family go through alot of discrimination during her young age growing up. Ann as well who’s also the director and founder of Tabenacle Widows Home, went through difficulties growing up in a community where widows were much humiliated by the society. These great two women of God met a decade ago when they were both working on their personal projects helping the needy and widow’s to be precise, they decided to start a widow’s home foundation. They believed that every widow deserved a safe and nurturing environment where they could find solace, support, and the tools necessary to rebuild their lives.
PST. Mary and Madam Ann began their journey by researching the needs and challenges faced by widows in their community. They discovered that many widows lacked proper emotional support and struggled to navigate their finances on their own. Additionally, they faced difficulties in finding employment and accessing affordable housing.
With a clear vision in mind, Mary and Ann sorted a legal and financial advice to ensure the proper establishment of the foundation. They formed a dedicated board of directors, each member bringing their own unique skills and experiences to the table.
They knew the funding was crucial for the foundation’s success. They received 80% funding from Mr Mugambi but it became a challenge as the number of people grew.
The foundation quickly became a beacon of hope for widows in the community. Their unwavering dedication and passion attracted other like-minded individuals who wanted to help. Together, they created a safe haven for widows—an inviting space where they could meet, share their stories, and receive guidance from trained professionals.
As the foundation grew, Mary and Ann actively raised awareness through social media campaigns, local media features, and community events. They shared stories of resilience and triumph, shedding light on the challenges faced by widows and advocating for their rights and well-being.
PST. Mary and Madam Ann journey from being raised with widowed parents to be leaders in the widow community has demonstrated the power of one person’s determination to make a positive change. Their foundation have become a reminder to all that with compassion, understanding, and unwavering dedication, individuals could truly transform lives and create a better world for those who have suffered loss.
